Wooden Faces

Wooden Faces: Cutout Drawings

I adore these little pieces, in the making of and the finished product, straddling the divided territories of my artistic practice.

There’s “my stuff”, and there’s “ EN MASSE stuff”, two uniquely different, yet interconnected aspects of a global body of work and creative interest.

These  are schizophrenic self portraits, painted on wooden panel cutouts, floating along French cleats.

I love employing cutouts and two dimensional puppets, and have been doing so for quite some time.  Work of this sort moves beyond the defined geometries of canvas, using  whatever location they’re installed in as the background of their world.

Are they deserving of  their own page?  Perhaps not, but they got one anyway.

Please check out the EN MASSE page to better understand the important black and white side of my artistic  life, designed to explore and amplify the power of shared creativity.
