A CIRCULAR PATH
When not learning how to take better care of plants and animals, I’m most definitely taking on new projects these days, especially when aligned with the power of circular giving. Â
Exploring alternative models of exchange involves rethinking traditional economic and social transactions, in order to emphasize mutual benefit and community engagement.

The journey begins with conversation, sharing projects of ideas and ideals. If the project is of mutual benefit, then our next step is to explore the many possible avenues of energetic exchange, emphasizing personal and artistic values over strictly commercial interests.Â
My soul is not for commercial sale, and thus neither is my work. The work I do — offered as an act of pure giving — is free of any corporate intercourse, commercial name, receipt, insurance, and/or any other pretense. Â
Only private gifts are received without expected consideration, and as such, I pass on the simple gift of what I do to whom I choose privately.
LABOUR OF LOVE
I frequently take on projects with people/organizations that have radically limited resources. You might call this a labor of love.
This social practice steers clear of strictly transactional models of exchange toward those built upon relational exchange, emphasizing trust, collaboration, and long-term mutual benefit.
My work draws me into environments where serious and often very sensitive ‘issues’ may be present, that are in need of special handling and/or increased public awareness.Â
Problems are beautiful in this way, presenting unique opportunities for solutions-based thinking and growth. The tools of public art invite us to think creatively, bypassing traditional and dysfunctional modes of discourse. In this way, something as seemingly simple as pushing paint around with a stick can become an incredibly useful tool for fostering understanding, empathy, and at the most magical of times, even healing.
ENERGETIC EXCHANGE — THE BOTTOM LINE
I’m passionate about exploring alternative and open-sourced models of energetic exchange. This relates to the many ways I receive compensation for my work beyond the scope of ‘gain’, ‘income’ or ‘profit’, and includes modalities such as bartering, trade, and community-driven fundraising. Doing so allows me to take on projects that would not normally be on the table, lacking resources. Â
As is true for each of us, meeting the basic needs of life is non-negotiable, including a place to sleep, some food to eat, at the associated material costs of the project. Â
I give my gifts freely, without expectations. If at the conclusion of a project you wish to make a gift of your own — in any way — I would be honoured by your intentional kindness, extended as a purest form of Charitable offering so that I may continue my labor of love. Â
NOTE: As the work that I do is not for sale under any government permission, request, or public license, there is no public sales tax required or collected. Under no conditions or circumstances should it be construed otherwise.
